about
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share a track with you that Farsheed and I wrote together. It's been about a decade since I wrote a song like this and even longer since we worked together in this capacity.
I remember talking with Farsheed and my other close friends about this idea that all the troublesome moments in my life serve a purpose. Not some Calvinist idea like everything is preordained or Fate ....but rather the idea that such moments, had they not happened, would make other moments impossible. There is a strange beauty in understanding how meaningful a painful moment can be and how if we can get up and keep on walking, it makes life worth living and worth struggling through. I hope that this song captures some of that.

lyrics
Sixteen miles from home
My heart torn and a dollar short
And the thought that crosses my mind
Have I done all that I can?
Past the point of no return
My emptiness is of no concern
And the thought that crosses my mind
Is there no rest for an honest man?
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Worn out with aching feet
Mouth dry in the blistering heat
And the thought that crosses my mind
Have I reached the end?
Lay me down, head in the dirt
Bury my soul deep in the earth
And the thought that crosses my mind
Will I have these thoughts again?
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Give me time, give me time to make amends
Pick me up, put me on my feet again
Give me time, give me time to make amends
Pick me up, put me on my feet again
I'm sixteen miles from home
Heart torn and a dollar short
And the thought that crosses my mind
Have I done all that I can?
Past the point of no return
My emptiness is of no concern
And the thought that crosses my mind
Is there no rest for an honest man?
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Let it wash (over me)
Give me time (give me time), give me time to make amends
Pick me up (pick me up), put me on my feet again
Give me time (give me time), give me to make amends
Pick me up (pick me up), put me on my feet again
